Judging from the trailer posted,it looks like Dragon Ball Super(season 1)will most likely take place between BOG and fukkatsu no f. And then assuming season 1 does well, futher episodes would then take place after fukkatsu no f movie.

I am guessing the first season is going to be dull/light hearted since it's going to take place at some time between the two new movies. Also, there are probably not going to be much major villains or fights scenes. I have this vibe that season 1 is going to be more 'Adventure Oriented' kiddy like stuff. Thank god season 1 is going to be 12 ~ 23 episodes only. But damn, they sure are making a gamble with season 1. if they mess season 1 up, Dragon ball Super will probably be the shortest Dragon ball series out of all the others.

This didn't do a good job getting me hyped. Lacking context for Goku's use of SSJ is irksome, and I'm getting really tired of Goten and Trunks being children. All this stuff is making it look like it's Pre RF, which I do not like at all. It's also a little irksome to see that it's not post 28th Budokai. Man, I'm usually pretty optimistic and welcoming towards new material, but this... I'm not looking forward to this based on this teaser. Hopefully it's good, but expectations have certainly been lowered.
There's not enough here to determine or really speculate much of anything you mentioned here.

You could be right, not saying there's no possibility of that. I just say let's all see how the first few episodes pan out and what's explained to see for sure when this new series takes place.

Don't get all "I know how this is going to go based on 14 seconds of footage" like I see so much of here haha. All that trailer tells me is I'm really looking forward to seeing more when the series airs. It doesn't tell me it's taking place between some timeline in 2008, to now. It's 14 seconds. Goku could just be going ssj for the hell of it, he's usually really thorough with exploring all aspects of a new form and how other, and possibly weaker forms can benefit a higher form, sort of helps him see how a new form could have more weakness than a prior one and how he can get rid of those weaknesses.

the series is set after the events of fukkatsu no f, not before.

The new TV series “Dragon Ball Super” by Akira Toriyama begins in July! After meeting with the God of Destruction; Beerus, who had awakened from his sleep, and after the revival of the dreaded “Emperor of the Universe”; Freeza, a new mysterious person appears …?

the notion that it happened before the movies was absolutely ridiculous. it never made a shred of sense.
Woo! I was hoping it would take place after RF

They might just be showing us Super Saiyan now and then they'll recolor it later like they did with Gohan.

I'm not saying a lot of this is likely, I'm just not pleased with how this trailer portrayed that it's completely ignoring RF. Show SSGSS or something. There is stuff I can critique, however, and that's Goten and Trunks being children, and this not taking place after the 28th Budokai. If Goten and Trunks are gonna be around, I want to see them mature as characters. Beyond that, this not aging sh** is getting really old. Goten and Trunks are teenagers so they should look like them. Even Gohan during the Cell Games looked older than them now, and he was just 10 years old. As for not going past the 28th Budokai, I kinda wanted to see Oob, Bra, and Pan do sh**. Gohan's too busy with his family, and I kinda doubt they're gonna a** pull a power up for Piccolo. I like Goku and Vegeta as much as the next guy, but I imagine this series will get pretty dull if they plan to only allowing Goku and Vegeta to take on the major villains. I'm not ready to condemn this franchise based on a short teaser, I'm just not hyped based on what this teaser had to offer.

I think the show might start before ROF and there'll be a villain that they need ssjg Vegeta for. Maybe I'm just desperate to see him get the proper protagonist treatment after my disappointment for how ROF turned out. This way it would mean the whole Goku ssj thing is just because he hasn't figured ssjgssj out yet and Goten and Trunks haven't aged because it's still BOG time. Maybe they'll also address how Goku and Vegeta (especially Vegeta) ended up training with Whis and why nobody was stunned when Vegeta revealed his ssjgssj...except for Freeza. Then the show continues on after those events and Goku will inevitably do most of the significant saving.

Not impressed with the Trailer, but then again I wasn't impressed with Battle of Gods in the least.

Super will probably be full of more contradictions and AT being very lazy about how he resolves the arcs. To be completely honest, AT should've just stayed away and gave it to someone else... I really don't think he should be writing Dragon Ball anymore, that's just me but it's how I feel.

That and, lets be honest, the show is 30 years old now. A continuation will still be amazingly fun I'm sure. But it may be time to pass the torch. Transformers for example. I love Furman, don't get me wrong. But honestly, reading his comics now compared to the original marvel ones, just don't have the same flare. Or Larry DiTillo, he and his partner did amazing things with beast wars and got dark with beast machines. It was nice to see him help with prime, but prime wasn't beast wars so he didn't have a place except to help add flavor. And you know, it worked. It was a load of fun, not the same as beast wars but still very good. Super is not Z. Super is not GT. Super, technically, isn't the Original Series. And that's OK. Its new, it shouldn't be the same thing or doing the same thing. So I do hope Toriyama-sensei just stays that, our sensei. Teachers teach so others can do and do well. That's where I think they should go.
